Dear Students, Welcome to Occupational Health & Safety Course. Here you will learn different aspects of occupational health & safety. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: * Identify the health hazardous materials and wastes in workplace * Perform exposure assessment of hazardous materials and waste * Understand importance of elimination or reduction of hazardous materials and waste * Apply various preventive measures to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of hazardous chemicals & wastes * Explain the occupational health and safety practices related to various industries * Explain the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA) * Discuss and compare the regulatory framework that govern the workplace and the executive agencies that are responsible for the regulation and enforcement of these laws (both Global & Sri Lanka) * Compare and contrast OHS as practiced in Sri Lanka to OHS practiced in international workplaces * Judge the rationale for occupation health and safety promotion/improvement activities in the workplace * Understand and implement the effective occupational health and safety management system as per ISO 45001 Cheers...
