Semester I

This course examines the major theories and characteristics of International Institutions. It will focus upon understanding various International Organizations (IOs), considering their origins, ostensible functions, and importance. Specifically, the institutional structures, political processes, and effects of international organizations within rulemaking, international peace and security; dispute settlement, and enforcement, global trade, investment, and development; and transnational politics such as human rights, public health, and the environment will be central to this course.
