ENM21013 Poetry and Short Story

This course introduces Romantic and Victorian poetry and short stories. The course focuses the development of Romantic and Victorian poetry and the famous poets. Selected poems are taken from William Blake, William Wordsworth, S.T. Coleridge, P.B. Shelley, John Keats and Alfred Lord Tennyson. The short stories on the other hand introduce different types of stories with different themes. Students will understand the subject and themes dealt in poetry and short story and show how they reflect the literary movement to which they belong by situating them in their socio- historical context.
